Dear Sheldon Students and Families,
I hope this message finds you all rested, recharged, and ready for a new school year! As summer comes to a close, we’re excited to welcome everyone back and look forward to the fresh energy and opportunities the new year brings.
Over the summer, our staff has been hard at work preparing classrooms, refining our curriculum, and planning programs that will continue to support and challenge our students. We’re particularly proud of the strides we’ve made in enhancing our equity and mental health initiatives, ensuring every student feels supported, valued, and ready to succeed.
This year, we’re also introducing new opportunities for families to stay connected by increased communication through frequent newsletters and a refreshed website that’s updated regularly. Our goal is to keep everyone informed and engaged in the life of our school.
As always, our commitment remains to fostering a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where all students can grow and thrive. We encourage you to stay involved, ask questions, and connect with us as we work together to make this year a positive and successful experience for every member of our community.
Students received access to their schedules on Friday, August 23. Counselors, Admin and the front office have received requests for schedule changes. Please understand we cannot respond to all of the phones and emails about schedule changes. Here is the link Schedule Correction Form.
As a reminder, the following message was sent home last week about schedule corrections.
Schedule corrections will be evaluated by their impact on the following:
• Progress toward graduation
• Level of disruption to the student’s overall schedule
• Space availability
• General need
Schedule changes at this time are only being made for the following reasons:
• Academic misplacement - as determined and initiated by the teacher/counselor.
• Missing a grade-appropriate graduation requirement.
• Failure of a class (must retake) or missing a prerequisite class.
• A technical/clerical error (ex: class is on the schedule twice)
For 9th and 10th Grade Students: Students are required to have a full schedule. Exceptions to this policy must be made through a counselor, and will require written consent from a parent/guardian.
Corrections you request are not guaranteed. You must continue to attend your scheduled classes until a change is made in Synergy. A counselor will notify you via your 4J email as soon as possible if the change is not approved.
Let’s make this school year the best one yet! We look forward to seeing you next week.
Welcome back, Irish! We’re glad you’re here.
Warm regards,
Mike Ingman
