Dear Sheldon Students and Families,
As we approach the next two weeks, we want to ensure that all students and families are aware of upcoming schedule changes. Please take note of the following adjustments to our regular school schedule:
Sheldon High School will follow a modified C Schedule on Wednesday, April 10. Students will attend all eight periods with shortened class times:
Period 1: 8:30 - 9:12 AM
Period 2: 9:17 - 9:59 AM
Period 3: 10:14 - 10:56 AM
Period 4: 11:01 - 11:43 AM
Lunch: 11:43 AM - 12:22 PM
Period 5: 12:27 - 1:09 PM
Period 6: 1:14 - 1:56 PM
Period 7: 2:01 - 2:43 PM
Period 8: 2:48 - 3:30 PM
There will be no school on Thursday, April 11, as this day is designated for midterm grading and teacher planning.
On Thursday, April 18, Sheldon High School will operate on a half-day schedule from 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM for Testing & Career Exploration Day. This day is designed to provide students with valuable academic assessments and career development opportunities in a structured and supportive environment.
9th Grade: Freshmen will participate in activities designed to help them develop essential academic and career-planning skills, explore future career interests, and set long-term educational goals. They will also experience the Career Fair.
10th Grade: All sophomores will take the Pre-ACT, which measures college readiness and provides insights into potential career paths based on students’ strengths and interests.
11th Grade: Juniors who signed up for the SAT will take this key college entrance exam, which plays a crucial role in college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
11th Grade (Non-SAT Students): Juniors who did not sign up for the SAT will take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery), which is a a multi-aptitude test that helps students explore career options, both in the military and the civilian workforce.. They will also take part in the Career Fair
12th Grade students: will take the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery), which is a a multi-aptitude test that helps students explore career options, both in the military and the civilian workforce.. They will also take part in the Career Fair.
Career Fair: This event connects students with local employers, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, and colleges. It exposes students to different career paths, job requirements, and post-secondary options, including technical training and workforce development.
