• Fun Fact for Hispanic Heritage Month: What is Dia de los Muertos?

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a beautiful Mexican tradition celebrated from October 27th to November 2nd. During this time, families honor and remember loved ones and pets who have passed away by creating a mini ofrenda (altar) filled with special items to welcome their spirits. Marigolds and candles help guide the spirits home, while offerings like food, drinks, sugar skulls, and incense await them upon arrival.

It is believed that the spirits of the dead return to the world of the living to be with their families. The ofrenda is a way to celebrate their lives, share memories, and keep their spirits close. This is not a spooky holiday, it’s a joyful celebration of life, love, and remembrance.

• Women in STEM meets this Thursday at lunch in B10 - Everyone is welcome to join for activities, crafts, snacks, and a good time! Bring a friend, come learn about STEM 
• Are you looking for a kind and fun group of people? Do you need community service hours? Key Club is an amazing opportunity to gain service hours and meet new people! We meet Tuesdays during lunch in room C9. Stop by to learn more about our club, make some friends, and eat some delicious snacks.
• LSU, Sheldon's Latine Student Union, will host its first meeting of the year, this Thursday, during lunch in room B15. Bring your friends and join us!! 
• Jewish student union will be meeting this Friday, September 18th, in room C2 during lunch. Come join us to celebrate the culture, plan for a new year, and eat some snacks. Both Jewish students and allies are invited.
