- Hello all, Reminder: Deadline to drop a class in S1 without administrator approval is today, January 16th. Students are not permitted to drop classes in the last ten days of the term. Also a reminder: Today is also the deadline for students to work with a teacher to submit a request for a Pass/No Pass grading option in Semester 1.
- Remember, our cell phone policy: “Off and Away all Day!” Thanks for all of your help with our new policy; most students are doing well with it! Today we begin phase two and three to comply with the Governor’s order. If your phone or Personal Electronic Device is out, it will be confiscated and brought to the front office where it can be picked up at the end of the day. With multiple infractions, you will need a meeting with parent or guardian prior to the device being returned and or leave it in the front office for the day.
- Clarification on Earbuds and Headphones
We have received many questions about earbuds and headphones, so we want to clarify expectations. The only headphones that may be used during the school day are those that are wired directly to a school-issued device (laptop). Even then, students must have teacher permission to use them during class. Bluetooth earbuds or wireless headphones are considered Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs). If a student is using them during the school day, the device they are connected to—and/or the earbuds themselves—may be confiscated by staff in accordance with the policy.Thank you for helping us maintain a focused, distraction-free learning environment. For the rest of this week, we will be reminding students about this clarified EARBUD/HEADPHONES policy, and next week we will be confiscating the Personal Electronic Device connected to the bluetooth headphones and or the headphones as well. Remember the SHS ROSE - be Respectful of Others, yourSelf, and your Environment.
