Announcements
Friday, January 9, 2026
- Attention all students: The deadline to drop a class in S1 without administrator approval is Friday, January 16th. Students are not permitted to drop classes in the last ten days of the term. Be sure to complete any planned schedule changes/drops, including return of textbooks/materials. Students must contact your school counselors directly in order to request a drop. January 16th is also the deadline for students to work with a teacher to submit a request for a Pass/No Pass grading option in Semester 1. Contact your School Counselor if you have questions.
- Starting next week, the office will no longer provide loaner laptops unless you are taking a test or quiz in class, or your original laptop is currently being repaired. This change is necessary because we have a limited number of loaner laptops. When students who are waiting for repairs need a replacement, we must have loaners available for them. Please make sure to bring your fully-charged laptop everyday to school.
- We want to share information regarding updated districtwide expectations for Personal Electronic Devices, which take effect now that it's 2026. These expectations align with statewide guidance issued through our Governor’s Executive Order and reflect a shared commitment to focused learning environments, student safety, and equitable practices. Throughout the entire Instructional day, personal electronic devices are expected to be “ALL DAY off and away” — powered off and not visible or accessible. This expectation applies for the entire school day, from first bell to last bell, including passing times and meal periods. Students may still communicate with their families through school systems (front office phone for instance) when needed. At Sheldon we will ask students to PARK their phones when in class in the designated area. During passing periods, breaks and meal times, students need to PACK their phones in backpacks prior to leaving class. We are all still learning and adjusting to these new expectations, and we thank you for your help as we implement these changes thoughtfully and consistently. As always remember the ROSE - be Respectful of Others, your Self and our Environment.
- If you are interested in being a part of the Sheldon Track & Field team this spring the team is starting winter workouts for January & February. The team meets in the weight room on Monday, Tuesdays & Thursdays at 3:45 pm, after school. It is a great way to get in shape early & meet teammates. You are encouraged to stop in and meet the coaches and ask any questions you may have about the program.
- We’re looking for players to join the Boys Tennis Team for the upcoming 2026 season. Open to all levels — although experience in tennis or other sports is a great starting point. Tennis is the subtle art of blending power, control, and grace — one of the most mentally and physically complex sports there is. If you enjoy problem-solving, competition, and working together towards a common goal, we’d love to see you on the court. Come meet Coach Hudson next Wednesday, the 14th, in Room C-9 during lunch, and see if you want to be part of building something special
