1. What is our focus?

The mission of the Sheldon Black Student Union is to promote an atmosphere of respect and understanding, and create an environment where unity and diversity are of the utmost importance in seeking to address racial conflicts and build a firm foundation in the student and local community.

2. What does our club do?

Our club works hard to advocate for our Black students by doing fundraising, art projects, performances, educational field trips and networking with the Black community. We’ve taken direct action by writing to the School Board and attended a meeting with the Superintendent about problems we’ve encountered, we’ve participated in protests for better change, and met with the Black Led Action Coalition founders.
