Letter to Sheldon Students 06.01.2020

Students,

I know that right now we are living in troubled times. Your school year was cut short due to the global pandemic, which has disrupted your life. In the news we have seen rising tensions, based on the actions of a few people. Now social unrest and rioting has stretched across the country, with incidents happening here in Eugene. I recognize that this may have caused you to feel concerned, unsafe, or even afraid. I want you to know that we care about you here at Sheldon High School.

If you need someone to talk to in these unprecedented times, I ask you to reach out to a trusted adult at Sheldon. Even though you are not currently walking the halls of Sheldon, we are all still together. Together we make up a strong community of people that greatly care about each other. Together we are stronger than when any one of us stands alone. Together we can overcome these difficult times.

If you are feeling like you want to talk to someone, please reach out to an adult at Sheldon. You have counselors, teachers, and administrators that care about you. We want to support you. You can reach us by emailing, calling, or attending Zoom meetings. Please do not hesitate to let us help to support you.

Respectfully,

Mike Ingman                                                                                                                                                                    Principal                                                                                                                                                                                   Sheldon High School
