Auditions for Sheldon Theater’s spring musical Curtains continue today at 3:45 in the auditorium with cold reads. If you missed yesterday’s singing auditions, don’t worry! Come today and you can still be considered for the cast. After today, you will have missed your shot! Questions? See Nancy Anderson in the choir room.

Hey Sheldon Peeps! Let’s unify around a community art project in anticipation of the Unity assembly that’s coming later this month. Swing by the library to pick up a “link” to decorate and add to the paper chain symbolizing our linked lives and that we all belong and contribute to this wonderful Sheldon community. You’re welcome to decorate more than one link, too. Let’s see how long we can make the chain! See Ms. Kunz in the library if you have any questions.

Come to GSA today at lunch in Room B-23. We will be working on our idea for the Unity Assembly, and there will be snacks.

Sheldon’s 2020 Unity Assembly is coming soon. Clubs and organizations planning to perform in the assembly need to turn their planning sheets into the Front Office no later than 3:30PM this Wednesday. Information about rehearsal times and locations will be out by the end of this week.

The baseball team will be meeting during lunch this Thursday in C9 Lecture Hall. All students planning to play this season need to attend. See you Thursday in C9 Lecture Hall for lunch.

Need a gift for a special someone this week? Students Against Gun Violence will be selling “faux roses” in the foyer today through Valentine’s day during lunch. Proceeds go to the National Compassion Fund, an organization that supports victims of gun violence and their families.

Today, we would like to recognize Dr. Mae Johnson. Dr. Mae Johnson is an American engineer, physician, and former NASA astronaut. In 1992, she became the first black woman to travel into space when she served as a mission specialist on the space shuttle “Endeavour”. After her retirement in 1993, she wrote several children books, appeared on many TV shows, and worked with several non-profits.

Latinx Student Union has a meeting Thursday, February 13, at lunch in room B-15. We will work on our presentation for the Unity Assembly and get more information about going to UO MEChA’s Raza Unida Youth Conference. Bring your creativity, your ideas, and a friend. See you there!

The Army National Guard will be here at lunch today! Please stop by the career center and see if the military is right for you!
