Announcements 02/07

Before Rosa Parks famously protested bus segregation as part of a larger boycott, Claudette Colvin was arrested for refusing to give up a bus seat to a white passenger. She was the last witness to testify to the Supreme Court in Browder v. Gayle to have bus segregation ruled as unconstitutional and to protect Black Americans’ rights to use public transportation. She was only 15 years old at the time, and she’s still alive and kicking today.
